Obituary for Michael D. O'Day

Michael D.  O'Day
Michael D. O'Day, 69, of Meadville, passed away, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. He was born in Meadville on September 9, 1947 a son of Daniel J. O'Day and Elizabeth Dutch O'Day. He married Eileen M. Schlipf on February 7, 1970.

He was a 1965 graduate of Meadville Area High School and served his country with the US Navy.

Mike was employed with Conrail and most recently with Warren Industries.

He was of the catholic faith.

Mike was a member of the Eagles Aerie, the Meadville Club, and he enjoyed reading, bowling, crossword puzzles, and playing with his grandkids.

In addition to his loving wife, Eileen M. O'Day of Meadville; he is survived by a daughter, Michele O'Day of Meadville; a son, David O'Day and his wife Jennifer of Meadville; a granddaughter, Ashley Hayden and her husband Lucas of Meadville; four great granddaughters, Chloe Morrow, Claire Hayden, Aleksys Hayden, and Lurisa Hayden; two sisters, Catherine Maynard and Mary O'Day both of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helene Welsh and Patricia O'Day; and brothers, Daniel O'Day, Thomas O'Day, and Terrence O'Day.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday, June 19th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Father Tom Trocchio, parochial vicar, officiating.

Burial will take place in Saint Agatha Cemetery.
