Obituary for Norman A. Brumbaugh

Norman A.  Brumbaugh
Norman A. Brumbaugh, 84, of Linesville, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. He was born on January 14, 1933 a son of Austin Brumbaugh and Julia Grams Brumbaugh. He married Margaret C. Mercier on February 11, 1956. She preceded him in passing on December 14, 2015.

He served his country with the US Navy from 1951-1955, worked as an Electrician with IBEW Local Union 712 most of his life, and retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass.

Norman was a loving husband, father, and companion. He was a member of Saint Philip Roman Catholic Church and had a strong faith in God. He was stubborn, strong, kind, and intelligent. He enjoyed boating, fishing, tinkering in his yard and creating memories with his family and friends. There wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix with his own two hands. He had many friends in Florida as well as in Pennsylvania. He was a true friend to so many and will never be forgotten.

He is survived by six daughters, Kim Harvey and her husband Tom of Conneaut Lake, Sherry Williams and her husband Eugene of Meadville, Karen Brown of Meadville, Robin Hughes and her husband Gary of Delaware, Ohio, Susan Powell and her husband Gary Powell, Jr. of Meadville, and Donna Matamoros and her husband Bear of Chesapeake, Virginia; two sons, Michael Brumbaugh and his wife Lisa of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Robert Karl Brumbaugh of Morristown, Tennessee; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; his loving companion, Eileen Mcdonald of Jamestown, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Phyllis Peters of Meadville and Sally Bosco of Meadville; five sister in laws, Winnie Brumbaugh, Ann Semler and her husband Harry, Lucille Hamilton, and Diane Brumbaugh; a brother in law, Paul Mercier and his wife Ruth; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his loving wife, Margaret; he was preceded in death by a son, Blaine Norman Brumbaugh 1956-1966; his parents; two brothers, Merle "Sam" Brumbaugh and Larry Brumbaugh; a sister, Marlene Dillaman; four brother in laws, Andy Bosco, Bill Peters, Dale Hamilton, and Francis Mercier; and two son in laws, David Brown and Richard Hall.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 23rd at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 South Mercer Street, Linesville, with Father Chris Hamlett, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will take place in Saint Agatha Cemetery, Meadville.
