Samuel Richard “Dick” Hazelhurst, Jr., 92, of Meadville, passed away, Friday, December 23, 2016 at home. He was born in Meadville on November 5, 1924, a son of Samuel Richard Hazelhurst, Sr. and Anna Burkhardt Hazelhurst. Dick Married Maxine Winegar on May 25, 1951, she proceeded him in death on February 27, 1991.

Dick was a member of Meadville Skeet Club, Meadville Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to Canada fishing.

He was the head of maintenance at Spencer Hospital.

Dick is survived by two sons, Lee Hazelhurst and his wife, Darla of Meadville and Gary Hazelhurst and his wife, Pamela; six grandchildren, Barry Alan, Michelle Lee, Erik Samuel, Craig Alan, Casey Lee and Carrie Ann; eight great-grandchildren, Savanna, Seth, Jensen, Zenobia, Kaylnn, Harley, Emma, and Addison. He also leaves behind three special cousins Gary and Ed Carr and Dick Burkhardt.

In addition to his parents, and loving wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Carolyn Molnar, Leona Fitch and Anna May Eccles.

Family and Friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at RYAN M. WARREN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Solomon of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, officiating.
