Obituary for Charles E. Steadman
TOWNVILLE - Charles E. Steadman, 88, of Townville, passed away, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at U.P.M.C. Hamot surrounded by his family. He was born on August 23, 1928 in Titusville, PA. He was a son of the late Raymond and Doris Vanderhoof Steadman.
Charles graduated from Townville High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1948 until 1952. He was stationed in Guam during the Korean War. Charles married Barbara Curry on August 27, 1953, and they were blessed with five children. He owned and operated his own dairy farm until he retired. He was a committee member for the ASCS office for many years. Charles was a member of the Steuben Grange, and he was also an insurance agent for the Grange. After he retired, Charles enjoyed spending time with his family, going for rides, and being on the family farm with his son, Donald. He attended Lyona Bible Church.
Survivors include his daughter Charla Frantz and her husband Daniel of Townville; four sons, Terrry L. Steadman and his wife Mary of Coraopolis, PA; Bill Steadman and his wife Cathy of Meadville; Donald Steadman of Townville and Randy Steadman and his wife Barbara of Meadville; nine grandchildren Elaine Steadman; Tanya Kightlinger; Danielle Sharp; Charlie Frantz; Peter Steadman; Maria Redmon; Joe Steadman; and Charlie and Tom Leavell; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Jean Bechtold of Zelienople, PA and Judy Gribus of Portersville, PA and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Steadman on July 2, 2008 and two brothers, Arthur and Alfred Steadman.
Friends and family may call at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 33353 N. Main Street, Townville, PA 16360; on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 11:30am until the time of the service at 2:30pm with Pastor Michael Fraser of Lyona Bible Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Townville Ambulance or Townville Fire Department, both at 33441 N. Main Street, Townville, PA 16360.
