Catherine Schau Snyder, 97, of Meadville,passed away, Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Crawford County Care Center. She was born on April 26, 1918, daughter of the late William and Catherine Smith Schau. She married Albert Snyder on February 27, 1948. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1993.

She was employed at Talon for 10 years and then 13 years at Meadville City Hospital as a nurse aide.

Catherine enjoyed entering her baked goods at the Crawford County Fair and winning ribbons.

Survivors include, two daughters, Betty Jeanne Danforth of New Richmond and Catherine (Dolly) Chechak of Meadville, PA; a son, Rev. John Snyder of Nanty Glo, PA; two daughters-in-law, Pat Snyder of Hillsboro, PA; and Barbara Snyder of Meadville, PA; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and three great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Snyder; three sons, Joe Snyder, Dick Snyder and Bernard Snyder, two sons-in-law, Frank Danforth and Andy Chechak, one daughter-in-law, Debbie Snyder and a granddaughter, Rebecca May Danforth.

Friends and family are invited to call the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335, on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.. Services will be held there, Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. John Snyder officiating.

Burial will take place at Greendale Cemetery.
