Obituary for Shirley Ann Leffingwell

Shirley Ann  Leffingwell
Shirley "Sis" Ann Leffingwell, 82, of Meadville, passed away, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Juniper Village. She was born on September 17, 1933 in Meadville a daughter of Charles Leffingwell and Blanche Guenther Leffingwell.

Sis was a graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School and was employed by Channellock for 24 years after her retirement she worked part time at the Channellock company store.

Sis loved her dogs and started a fund to purchase bulletproof vest for police dogs.

She enjoyed golf, the Pittsburgh Steelers, but most of all loved spending time with her friends and family.

Sis is survived by a sister, Jean Rhodes of Conneaut Lake; three brothers, Robert Leffingwell of Altoona, William Leffingwell and his wife Dorothy of Meadville, and Charles Leffingwell and his wife Carole of Girard; a special niece, Sandra Lawrence and her husband Stanley of Conneaut Lake; a special great-nephew, Ty Johnston and his wife Sara of Meadville; a special friend, Sandy Stewart of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marshall and Donald Leffingwell; a sister, Martha Rudler; a nephew, Herb Rudler; and a niece, Susie Rhodes.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, January 28th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 29th at 11:00am at the funeral home with Father Johnathan Schmolt, pastor, of Saint Brigid Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.

The family would like to thank Juniper Village for all their care and support.

Since the care of animals was so dear to Sis' heart in lieu of flowers it is requested memorial donations be made to Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, Pennsylvania 16335.
