SHIPPENSBURG - Shirley J. Rice, 70 of Shippensburg, formerly of Meadville, passed away, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Carlisle Hospital. She was the daughter of the late, Wayne A. and Eleanor Dufford Sechler. She married Francis "Tim" Rice, II on April 4, 1987. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2000.

Shirley was a graduate of Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland with a Radiology Technologist Degree, and she also received a degree in Nuclear Medicine. She retired from Meadville Medical Center in 2002 as the head of Radiology Manager.

She was a member of the First Emmanual Church of Christ in Meadville; Shirley was an avid traveler, she enjoyed cruising and was President of her community clubhouse in Shippensburg.

Survivors include, her daughter, Christine Gallagher, and her husband Sean; her granddaughter, Delaney Gallagher of Shippensburgh; sister, Donna Wiser and her husband William of Conneaut, Oh; niece Vickie Yendriga and her husband David of Mantua, Ohio; William Wiser, Jr. of Conneaut, Ohio; two great nieces, Samantha and Megan Yendriga of Mantua, Ohio; great nephew Jordan Wiser of Conneaut, Ohio; Step Children, Anthony Rice, Phillip Rice and Karen Haun of Meadville; and step grandchildren, Anthony, Sam and Elizabeth Rice, and Nathan and Parker Haun all of Meadville.

Friends and family are invited to call, the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335; on Thursday, January 7, 2016; from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 12:00 P.M..

Burial will be at the Venango Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanual Community Church, 30 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
