Obituary for Ruth J. Kostolansky (Nageotte)
Ruth J. Kostolansky, 94, of Meadville, passed away, Monday, November 2, 2015 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. She was born on October 7, 1921 in Meadville a daughter of Leonard Nageotte and Katherine Reuter Nageotte. She married John Kostolansky on October 26, 1946. He survives.
She was a member of Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church.
Ruth graduated from Spencer Hospital School of Nursing, she then enlisted in the United States Army as a nurse serving during World War II in England. Following the war she worked as a nurse at the former City Hospital during the 1950's until 1970.
She loved feeding the birds, watching the wildlife in her backyard, and seeing the beautiful colors of the autumn leaves.
Ruth volunteered at the local soup kitchen and enjoyed bus trips to the casino.
In addition to her loving husband, John; Ruth is survived by a daughter, Mary Kostolansky of Meadville; two sisters, Jeanne Aaron of Saegertown and Marie Robie of Clinton, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Mark Nageotte of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Vincent Nageotte of Meadville, and James Nageotte of Cleveland, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 4th at 1:30pm at Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville, with Father Matthew Kujawinski, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Saint Agatha Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made in Ruth's memory to Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or West Mead 2 Volunteer Fire Department, 20607 Ryan Rd, Meadville, PA 16335.
