Obituary for Thomas G. Reese Sr.

Thomas G. Reese Sr.
Thomas Glenn Reese, Sr, 64, passed away Tuesday October 27, 2015 in Meadville Medical Center. Formerly of Conneaut Lake, Tom was the son of Jenny (Axtell) Linder of Conneaut Lake and the late Charles Jerry Reese. Tom married his long-time companion, Cindy (Farren) Reese, after nine years; they joined in matrimony September 17, 2000 and lived in Saegertown, PA.

Tom was a 1970 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School. He joined the Army Reserves in 1971 and completed Basic Training in Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. He served in the Army Reserves as an Artilleryman for eight years and held many fond memories of his service. Tom drove trucks for several companies in the tri-state region, notably J&J Foods, Today's Express, and Coca-Cola; he knew every route and short cut in the tri-state area. He delivered for the Meadville Coca-Cola Bottling Plant, and followed the consolidation into the Erie Distribution Center. Tom retired from Coca-Cola, after 20 years of service, in 2014.

Tom was a stoic, hard-working, independent man. He held family in the highest regard, especially his mother. Tom exemplified the unconditional love found within a family. As a quintessential patriarch, Tom was the backbone of his family. He loved auto-mechanics and general tinkering; his favorite time of year was preparing an entry for the annual Demolition Derby at the Crawford Country Fair. Tom's decades of experience was truly beneficial to his family and friends; "if it's mechanical, I can fix it." He eagerly offered support to anyone who needed it and in any capacity he could provide. Tom loved country and western attire and knew every song by Reba. Although there was always a tremendous amount of work, Tom deeply enjoyed tending to his horses on the farm. He also loved his dogs, and always made known that his dog was a member of the family. Tom's relationship with Bandit was the best example of "Dog is man's best friend."

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Charles Jerry Reese, Sr. and granddaughter, Audreanna Esteel Albaugh. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jenny (Axtell) and Lee Linder of Conneaut Lake; wife of 15 years, Cindy (Farren) Reese of Saegertown; brother and sister-in-law, Charles J Reese, Jr. and Rita Reese of Atlantic; daughter, Michele S (Reese) Gates of Meadville; son, Thomas G Reese, Jr. of Saegertown; daughter, Melissa J (Flick) Albaugh of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Eric G Farren of Charlestown, IN; six granddaughters: Bridget Robinson of Conneaut, OH; Camie Reese of Meadville; Madison and Calie Farren of Charlestown, IN; Alexandria Albaugh of Toms River, NJ; and Coreena Albaugh of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandsons: Joseph Gates of Meadville; Ace Reese of Meadville; and Brandon Farren of Charlestown, IN; one great-granddaughter, Adelynne Shook of Conneaut, OH; two nieces and several great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to come to a memorial service, Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
